The winter transfer market proves to be a time of significant speculation and possible major moves. Numerous high-profile players find themselves linked with transfers away from their present teams. We examine a selection of the major names that might be on the move this month.

Antoine Semenyo

Although the Black Stars' inability to reach the Africa Cup of Nations, this has left the player in contention, it appears a significant move is close. Marc Guéhi

This English defender has continued to excel for Palace despite a summer transfer to Anfield falling through. As his deal due to run out in the close season, this represents the club's last chance to obtain a fee for their skipper. Numerous elite sides, including City and several continental powerhouses like Barcelona, Real Madrid, and Bayern Munich, are believed to hold an interest. Yet, a January departure remains unlikely, particularly given the coach's dependence on the defender.

B. Johnson

This Wales forward has had first-team minutes limited at Tottenham this term. Although finishing as the club's top scorer last season, he has started just a small number of league matches. It is understood the London club is open to a sale for the correct valuation, believed to be in the around forty million pounds. Bournemouth appear to be leading the chase, with Aston Villa, Brentford, and Crystal Palace also showing an interest.

The Portuguese midfielder might be poised for a comeback to the Premier League after a period in the Saudi Pro League. This veteran Germany shot-stopper is now as the third option at Barcelona following the coach Hansi Flick. Having lost his place and had surgery, a January departure looks highly probable. Aston Villa were once mentioned as a potential suitor, but that option currently seems off. Instead, interest from Saudi Arabia and Turkey are thought to be expressing interest in the 33-year-old.

Following starring at the Under-19 European Championship, Smit has become a regular in the AZ first team. This teenager is widely tipped to make a major transfer this month.
